PCI to AGP adapter
PCI UNIV to AGP 1.0 1x adapter
-on board 5V and 3.3V power supplies, with maximum current exceeding AGP specs. 3.3V AGP VCCIO separately filtered. All power is drawn from the PCIe power connector, zero power is drawn from the PCI slot.
-high speed level shifters, the adapter can be used in any PCI slot, 3.3V or 5V IO. Works with at least 95MHz PCI clock.
-jumper for identifying as a 33MHz or 66MHz PCI capable card.
-two fan headers, accepting 3/4 pin fans, 5V/12V fans, with adjustable PWM
Tested successfully with Voodoo 3 2000/3000, various Banshee cards, Voodoo 4 4500, Vodoo 5 5500, Nvidia TNT2, Intel i740. This adapter doesn’t support AGP sideband signaling, AGP texturing etc. Not all systems/cards will be compatible with this adapter. Also, because the adapter increases the height of the card, not all cards are mechanically compatible, for example the V3 2000 won’t be able to fit in a regular PC case due to the position of the VGA connector.
Full design files (schematic, PCB, gerbers, BOM) are attached below:
were can i buy one
Sorry, I’m not selling anything, but I have attached all the design files needed to manufacture one.
where can i purchace this?
Sorry, I’m not selling anything, but I have attached all the design files needed to manufacture one.
Would you please share the PCB with me? I would like to obtain this and test it with my Voodoo3.
Hello,
Sorry for the delay. I have attached the design files.
Thank you very much for sharing your cool design!
As I’m not familiar with the MSP430FR2433IRGE, is there programming needed to work as fan controller?
Marc
Hello,
Yes, it needs to be programmed. I’ll upload the code later (if I still have it).
The board will work fine without programming it or without it at all, just the fan headers won’t work.
what about something that plugs into the AGP port and have pci-e on the other side.
I know there was a bridge chip that did APG to PCI-E as that was used on allot of cards to make them compatible with pci-e and had the chip built on but i would like the adapter.
PI7C9X130 in reverse mode could be used for that. The AGP part would be plain PCI@66MHz.
I cannot find anywhere to buy this though.
I tried using the provided information to order manufacturing from PCBWay.com , but they encountered a number of components they couldn’t find matching parts numbers for and claimed to have an issue with applying edge connector beveling (for which I had specified the default bevel for a PCI edge connector, though perhaps that is unnecessary?), requiring resizing the board(?).
Has anyone successfully had this manufactured? If so, any guidance on manufacturing would be much appreciated.
Hey,
Can you list the components for whicn they did not find a match?
I manufactured the PCBs at JLC, and they had no issue with beveling the edge, and I don’t see why any manufacturer would have problems with this.
Hi sdz. They provided: https://1drv.ms/x/c/b229b3cf4637f948/EYXHtJAnBatNnmRdIFO6lBoB9xmleUYoEJHedcdP5a9U8Q?e=Pk5DFH
(They also had some trouble with CSV files containing semi-colons, which I gather is a locale thing.)
Before I try to revive/recreate my PCBWay order, I thought I’d try JLC, in case that’s simpler. I got past the “PCB” step but was unable to go from the “Bill or Materials” step to the “Component Placement” step without a CPL file.
